16th Festival of Religious Music in Patmos

Patmos island, hosts the 16th Religious Music Festival, in the outdoors of the Holy Cave of Apocalypse. Starting at 29/8 until 3/9, the Festival includes musical works of Orthodox, universal and folk music. The Byzantine choir “Romanos Melodos” of Limassol Metropolis, with the Archpriest Nikos Lympourides and the accompaniment of a set of traditional instruments.

On 30/8 the Patmos Festival Orchestra and an eight-member vocal ensemble will perform “Daniel in the Lion’s Pit”, a composition by the artistic director of the Festival Alkis Baltas, based on religious melodies sung during the Middle Ages in the homonymous opera drama.
