The 5th Greek Film Festival of Montreal returns this Monday 27th of March, in collaboration with the famous Greek Film Festival of New York, presenting the best films of contemporary Greek cinema.
The film screenings will take place in Cinema du Parc from Monday to Sunday. You can visit www.mgff.ca/films address, to find the program and buy your tickets online or buy them at the cinema entrance.
The reception of the Closing Ceremony of the Festival, will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2017, at Rialto Theater, 5723 Park avenue, at 6:00 pm.There will be a diner cocktail, followed by the major film of the festival, “Another World,” which has sold the most tickets in Greece in the recent years. The ticket price for the closing ceremony are $ 40 and includes cocktails and the entrance for the movie.
This year we have the opportunity to honor the 40th anniversary of the death of the great Greek opera diva, Maria Callas, with an exclusive special documentary entitled “Our Maria Callas.” The screening will take place on Sunday, April 2, 2017, at 3:30 pm in Rialto theater. The ticket costs $ 10 and all proceeds will go to schools of Greek Community of Greater Montreal.
There will be also the chance to watch the documentary film Fighting Through the Night, directed and produced by Sylvain L’Espérance, from Quebec, who remained two years in Greece,filming the crisis in the country between 2014 and 2016. The film will be screened at 1 pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Cinema du Parc , where on Friday,the director will answer all questions from the audience.
The Greek Film Festival of Montreal, aims to become one of the most renowned festival in our city. We expect everyone to have fun and make the festival successful.
