General Secretary of Tourism, Evridiki Kourneta represented Greece and Ministry of Tourism at the 16th European Tourism Forum in Tallinn, Estonia.The Forum was co-organized by European Commission and the country of Estonia at the EU Council.
Ms. Kourneta participated in the works of the Forum as:
- promoting innovation in tourism through “digital transition” to enhance the competitiveness of the sector
-strengthening connectivity as a critical success factor in the sustainable development of tourism
- balancing safety and unrestricted travel in Europe
In the framework of the forum, Ms. Kourneta met with the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization Taleb Rifai and she also spoke with the Deputy General Secretary for Economic Development of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications of the Republic of EstoniaViljar Lubi, on matters of innovation and digital economy and potentials for developing partnerships and actions between the two countries to promote tourism.
Mrs. Kourneta met with the Greek Ambassador in Estonia Maria Karnoutsou, with whom she discussed the tourist traffic from Estonia (about 40,000 visitors) annually – as well as the prospect with the dynamic promotion of Greece.
